Service Benefits
Why Families Book This Service
Families choose a medication review for specialist oversight and clinical continuity.
A fully remote option for reviewing an existing diagnosis — because this is a review of medication already prescribed, rather than a new diagnostic assessment, it can be completed remotely.
Concerns about side effects or reduced effectiveness — wanting the current medication looked at again by a qualified Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Wanting specialist oversight, rather than relying on repeat prescriptions alone.
A second opinion on the existing diagnosis or treatment plan.
Medication or dosage needs may change as a child gets older, and a specialist review can help confirm what's still appropriate.
Ongoing specialist support, available when it's needed — not a mandatory schedule, simply a service families can access as required.
Suitability
Who This Appointment Is For
This service is intended for children and adolescents with a previous ADHD diagnosis. It is not a new diagnostic assessment. Relevant diagnostic reports, medication history, current dose, and recent physical-health information may be requested before suitability is confirmed.
Clinical Review
What the Consultant Reviews
The consultation considers current symptoms and functioning, treatment response, side effects, adherence, sleep, appetite, mood, and any concerns raised by the family or young person. Medication decisions are individual clinical decisions and are never guaranteed before assessment.
Prescribing & Continuity
Where prescribing is clinically appropriate, the plan is agreed with the parent or guardian and young person. Follow-up may be needed to monitor response and safety. The clinic cannot provide emergency prescriptions or guarantee continuation of a medicine without adequate clinical information.
