Common Reasons Families Get in Touch
Real Reasons Parents Book This Assessment
Families usually come to us for one of a few specific reasons.
A teacher or school has raised concerns, and you need a formal assessment to understand what is happening.
You are on a long HSE waiting list and want a proper assessment sooner.
Your child needs documentation for school supports, such as extra time, a reduced-distraction setting, or a formal accommodation plan.
You are applying for RACE for the Junior or Leaving Certificate and need a formal psychiatric or psychological report.
You are applying for DARE for college admission and need professional documentation.
Your GP has suggested a specialist assessment and you want to move forward with a psychiatrist.
The assessment report can support a RACE or DARE application, but eligibility and final accommodation decisions are made by the State Examinations Commission and DARE respectively, not by Prowise Clinic.

The diagnostic pathway
What Actually Happens
Referral & Background
The process usually starts with a referral or enquiry from a parent or carer, school, GP, or directly from the young person if they are old enough. A conversation covers history, symptoms, what prompted the assessment now, and your questions.
The Assessment
A single extended video consultation uses standardised clinical tools and a structured clinical interview. This is where the consultant determines whether ADHD is present and considers other possible explanations.
Report & Next Steps
You receive a written report, a supporting school letter where relevant, and agreed next steps. If ADHD is confirmed and medication is clinically agreed, a prescription can be sent to your nominated pharmacy.
Fee transparency
One Fee. Nothing Hidden.
The assessment fee covers the extended session, written report, a supporting school letter where relevant, and a prescription sent to your pharmacy if medication is agreed.
